UK Media Watchdog Fines Khalsa TV For Violence, Terror References Against India

The UK’s media watchdog has imposed a total fine of 50,000 pounds on Khalsa Television Ltd or KTV in Britain for broadcasting a music video and a discussion programme that was an indirect call for British Sikh to commit violence and also contained a terror reference.The Office of Communications (Ofcom), the UK government-approved media regulatory authority, issued the order on Friday following its findings dating back to February and November 2019. Its order also includes a direction for the channel to broadcast a statement of Ofcom’s findings on a date and in a form to be determined by the watchdog and also for KTV not to repeat the music video or the discussion programme found in breach of its rules.Ofcom has imposed financial penalties of 20,000 pounds and 30,000 pounds on Khalsa Television Limited in relation to its service KTV for failing to comply with our broadcasting rules. Safran, HAL consider assembly of Rafale M88 engine in India

The French manufacturer Safran Aircraft Engines and the Indian aviation company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)  to study the manufacturing of components and the assembly of the M88 engine designed by Safran in India.   A transfer of technology is being considered. That initiative would help power a potential second batch of Dassault Rafale fighter jets ordered for the Indian Air Force, or “any aircraft manufactured in India by HAL fitted with M88.”  Indian authorities and their French counterparts are reportedly discussing an arms contract that could include a second batch of 36 Rafales.  Additionally, the agreement includes a partnership between HAL and Safran for the elaboration of the indigenous design of a 110 kN high thrust engine.  Such a component could power the future Advance Medium Combat Aircraft [AMCA], a 5th generation fighter-bomber developed by HAL. “Considering the country’s future ...

New Delhi moves ahead with Naval fighter & AMCA

India’s Aeronautical Development Agency (A DA) has provided additional details about the planned Twin Engine Deck-Based Fighter (TEDBF), as it moves forward with the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). The TEDBF will be developed to replace the Indian navy’s RAC MiG-29Ks, and will differ radically from the AMCA being developed for the nation’s air force.  Optimised for carrier operations, the TEDBF will feature a conventional delta wing configuration with canards and a horizontal tail, whereas AMCA has a twin-tail layout with an emphasis on stealth. The TEDBF will operate from the navy’s short take-off but assisted recovery carriers INS Vikramaditya and IAC 1: Indigenous Aircraft Carrier 1, which will start sea trials this year and be named INS Vikrant. Outfitted with folding wings for deck handling and storage, the TEDBF will have a maximum take-off weight of 26t and be powered by two GE Aviation F414 INS6 engines.
