Operation Meghdoot
We all know India operates at the highest battlefield in the World Siachin Glacier. What is Operation Meghdoot? In 1980s both India 🇮🇳 and Pakistan 🇵🇰 discovered that no one has laid claim to this Strategic Area. After some planning and buying of new gear for the extreme conditions the Army launched Operation Meghdoot. Indian Army was trained through a Expedition to Antarctica to prepare them for Siachin. After seeing the preparation of the Indian side the Pakistan 🇵🇰 side feared the capture of Strategic Area by India. After this Islamabad ordered artic gear from a London Supplier but It was the Same Supplier which supplied the same equipment to India before. The Supplier informed the India about the developments with Pakistan 🇵🇰. The first phase of the operation began in March 1984 with the march on foot to the eastern base of the glacier.
